“…In stripping reactions the state has not been observed neither in the reactions 9Be(d, p)l~ and 9Be(p, ~z+)l~ nor in proton stripping (d, n) on 9Be where the analog state could have been excited (Refs. 15,16,17). The angular distributions observed in the present (d, SHe) experiment, displayed in Fig.…”

“…2b (the 9 Be+2n threshold is 1.47 MeV above the next strongly excited state at 5.25 MeV). These states show a strong relation to the most strongly populated states in the 9 Be (d, p) 10 Be reaction [14], which are the negative parity states with J π = 2 − , 3 − , 4 − at 6.26, 7.37 and 9.27 MeV. Thus these states observed in 11 Be can be grouped into a rotational band with a moment of inertia similar to or slighty larger than that of the 10 Be-dimer moment of inertia.…”

“…We repeat here the evidence for rotational bands in 9 Be and 10 Be. This evidence is based mostly on inelastic α-scattering [12], (α, 3 He) reactions [12] as well as (d, p) reactions on 9 Be [14]. The strong population of states shows their direct relation to the 9 Be ground state, which has a large deformation.…”

“…Based on the reduced widths amplitudes from our R-matrix fit and taking into account isospin Clebsch-Gordon coefficients we estimated the total width of this 2 + state in 10 Be to be ≈ 330 keV. This value seems to be more consistent with the 9 Be(d,p) data [26] that reports a width of 291±20 keV for this state rather than with the 141±10 keV value from the 7 Li( 7 Li,α) data [27].…”
