Previous studies have suggested that the use of high-capacity transportation (HCT) can lead to low-carbon road-transportation in the forest industry. This study shows the impacts (in terms of energy efficiency) of a three-year adaptation process of transportation (2014–2016) towards HCT that took place in a synchronized transportation system (STS). The use of three transportation fleet-management control (TFMC) methods was analyzed in various road infrastructures. Energy-efficiency calculations were undertaken based on the HCT vehicles’ mass limits (64, 68 and 76 t). The use of 76 t vehicles increased energy efficiency by 13.4% and reduced CO2 emissions by 3.5% (to 49.6 g/tkm). In addition, the results show that the energy efficiency of the STS could be improved by a further 3.1%. In this respect, the proposed TFMC was used to adjust the STS towards vehicle-group transportation while meeting the road-class constraints of local wood supply chains. Forest-industry companies in Finland and abroad can use the tailored TFMC to optimize the STS in the near future and to achieve the energy-efficient STS and the regulations of the European Commission in wood-procurement logistics.

Influence Evaluation of Vehicle on Air Quality in Various Types of Road in Banda Aceh City: The BandaAceh population is increasing significant day by day. Population increases will affect on increasing pollutants concentration in the air. In this study an evaluation was conducted to evaluate the air quality in roads of Banda Aceh. This research was conducted by calculating the volume of traffic roads and measuring the ambient air using AQM 65 tools. The research variables are consist of fixed variables which include place and time and independent variables include of holidays and working days. Variable Time starts at 07:00-08:00 am, 11:00-12:00 am., and 17.00-18.00 pm. Site variables include arterial roads, collector roads and local roads. Based on the results of the study showed that the number of vehicles affects the amount of pollutant concentration, in addition the intensity of the sun is also an important impact of pollution concentration. Sampling on weekdays and holidays shows the difference in the number of vehicles passing. This is due to the activities of schools and office areas on the road, so that there is a significant change in another day and time of sampling. Even weather conditions can affect changes in pollutant concentrations. Based on ISPU's calculations, the air condition of Banda Aceh City is currently in the good, safe category.

This article aims to serve as a guide for the construction of supply chain simulation models designed with a lean approach, using Promodel software. To achieve this, a supply chain was designed for a fictitious company located in the City of Celaya, Guanajuato and a set of suppliers located in different cities within the same State. It was used as a google tool to define the distances between each of the companies. As a final result, a representative model of a supply chain was obtained, as well as a methodology that allows the construction of lean supply chains regardless of the number of companies that comprise it. The effect of the variability in the delivery times between suppliers was incorporated into the simulation model, as well as an equation that calculates the pollution emissions of the vehicles that integrate the network that moves the products between the companies. With this work it is possible to represent networks of supply chains of real world companies, where the variability and contamination factor is included, to facilitate the decision making regarding the number of vehicles, inventory levels, quantities to be shipped, frequency in the shipments, etc. with the purpose of contaminating as little as possible and at the same time preventing interruptions in the supply chain using the least amount of resources possible.
