The data merging study of the two infrared thermography non-destructive techniques on W7-X divertor targets allowed to improve significantly the sensitivity and reliability of detecting the fault size and location at the tile interfaces. This was possible due to the merging of infrared images. This original method of tile interfaces inspection has been validated using calibrated defects and then applied on fabricated components. The data merging method of infrared thermal images using the fuzzy logic method and Dempster-Shafer's model is presented in the paper.

Abstract-Even though Location Based Services (LBSs) are being more and more widely-used and this shows a promising future, there are still many challenges to deal with, such as privacy, reliability, accuracy, cost of service, power consumption and availability. There is still no single low-cost positioning technology which provides position of its users seamlessly indoors and outdoors with an acceptable level of accuracy and low power consumption. For this reason, fitness of positioning service to the purpose of LBS application is an important parameter to be considered when choosing the most suitable positioning technology for an LBS. This should be done for any LBS application, since each application may need different requirements. Some location-based applications, such as locationbased advertisements or Location-Based Social Networking (LBSN), do not need very accurate positioning input data, while for some others, e.g. navigation and tracking services, highlyaccurate positioning is essential. This paper evaluates different positioning technologies from fitness-to-purpose point of view for two different applications, public transport information and family/friend tracking.

This article describes a data fusion algorithm that uses fuzzy logic techniques. The algorithm involves weighting factors, the values of which change depending on whether the conditions dictated by processes of fuzzy logic have been met. By modifying the values of weighting factors, one can achieve a measurement signal with expected properties. The article includes a general description of the algorithm and an example of its application. The algorithm was developed for the purposes of data fusion for contactless measurement of the linear and angular position of an automatic laparoscopic device or a laparoscopic camera (hereinafter Laparoscope sleeve or LS).These measurements are used in the article to close the feedback loop on the position within a servomechanism with two degrees of freedom.
