A Reconstruction Algorithm for Blade Surface Based on Less Measured Points

Abstract: A reconstruction algorithm for blade surface from less measured points of section curves is given based on B-spline surface interpolation. The less measured points are divided into different segments by the key geometric points and throat points which are defined according to design concepts. The segmentations are performed by different fitting algorithms with consideration of curvature continuity as their boundary condition to avoid flow disturbance. Finally, a high-quality reconstruction surface model is obt… Show more

“…On the optimal attitude, the point on the partition surface corresponds to the point in the point cloud and is calculated according to their X O Y O coordinates. Due to the parametric expression of the surface, it is an iterative solving problem which is expressed as equation (13), and this problem can be solved using the Newton iteration method.…”

“…Given the reconstruction of the B-Spline surface from the point cloud, there have been several excellent approaches. [13][14][15] However, these methods have defects of inefficiency and inaccuracy because above workpieces' characteristics of dual value, single bend, and high precision machining.…”

“…Many researchers showed in their literatures different algorithms for simplification of data points obtained from 3D laser scanners. J. Liu et al [2] proposed an effective and simple reconstruction algorithm based on interpolation of B-spline surfaces of blade surface by section curves with less acquired points, to improve the aerodynamic performance for the blade surfaces. The less acquired points of the section curves were gritted using the Coordinate Measuring Machine.…”
