A privacy‐preserving mechanism for social mobile crowdsensing using game theory

Abstract: Smartphones and mobile networks have created a new paradigm called mobile crowdsensing for data gathering and processing about a large-scale phenomenon. This paradigm's development allows untrustworthy people to gather large amounts of information over time from the reported events. In this regard, mobile crowdsensing increases the possibility of violating users' privacy. Recently, social communication has added potential capabilities to mobile crowdsourcing environments. Based on these social communications, … Show more

“…Game theory is a primary tool for predicting economic behavior, including giving incentives. This theory has been the focus of various studies to analyze similar situations in incentive mechanism design [18,19], and price modeling [20]. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study that focuses on two critical questions; (1) How can organizations be encouraged to participate (or compensate for the participation costs) in integrating business applications?…”

“…On the other hand, users' participation in mobile crowdsensing networks is often voluntary due to using battery resources or exposure to threats such as privacy issues [9]. Therefore, one of the main challenges of mobile crowdsensing networks is encouraging users to participate [10].…”

“…Video services such as IPTV, VoD, and video living rely on wonderful content and quality of services (QoS) and have become the most popular application on the Internet, so much so that video traffic has become more than 70% of the world's total traffic [5][6][7][8]. The combination between video applications and social networks promotes the process and range of video dissemination because the video spread considers social links between users as the new sharing channel [9][10][11][12][13]. The assistance of social networks further results in the blowout of video traffic, which brings a heavy burden for the core networks.…”
