A Novel Quarter‐Circular Arc Multi‐Direction Piezoelectric VEH and Its Theoretical Model

Abstract: A quarter‐circular arc piezoelectric Vibration energy harvester (VEH) based on nonlinear geometry is proposed with both bending moment and torque deformation mode, so it can effectively absorb multidirectional vibration at the same resonance frequency. The theoretical model of quarter‐circular arc piezoelectric VEH is established to study the resonance frequency and the output voltage. In order to demonstrate multi‐directional performance of the quarter‐circular arc VEH, the stress distribution is compared wit… Show more

“…Compared with the traditional analytical approach based on classical Mie scattering theory combined with multiple scattering theory, the TO approach avoids the treatment of cylindrical harmonics and is able to give a closed-form expression for the elec-tric field. Note that this strategy has also been applied to solve for the optical response of 3D dimers consisting of a pair of nanospheres [27], [28], kissing [26], [29], [30] and overlapping [31] cylinders and crescents [6], [32].…”

“…Metallic nanostructures support localized surface plasmon (LSP) resonances that depend sensitively upon their geometry and the surrounding medium, making it an ideal platform to tailor the spectral response [5], [6], [7]. An individual subwavelength plasmonic nanostructure typically support a broad dipolar resonance and several narrow high order multipole modes at higher frequencies.…”

“…Then, the cantilever shape can be modified to simultaneously sense bending and torque loads. It has been proved that a quarter-circular arc piezoelectric beam can harvest vibration energy in three directions [ 29 ]. Based on the conventional cantilever–pendulum approach, Qin’s group used liquid as the energy-capturing medium to simultaneously achieve ultralow frequency, low intensity and multidirectional energy harvesting [ 30 , 31 ].…”
