A novel insulation resistance monitoring device for Hybrid Electric Vehicle

Abstract: A new type insulation resistance on-line monitor has been designed for Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV). It is mainly composed of a proportional circuit and data sampling, processing module. The device detects insulation resistance by sampling DC bus voltage and voltage between positive line and chassis. The voltages sample is controlled by Electronically Controlled Unit (ECU). These voltages are isolated by opto-coupler Isolation amplifier and transmitted to ECU. The value of insulation resistance is calculated … Show more

“…Therefore, the real-time monitoring of electric vehicle highvoltage insulation performance changes and responding to the changes in the insulation resistance, represent important guarantees for the safe operation of electric vehicles. Because it is difficult to directly measure the high-voltage insulation of electric vehicles online, researchers have invented a variety of methods to detect the high-voltage insulation resistance [21]- [24], but most of them face problems such as a slow response time, insufficient estimation accuracy, and poor reliability. Therefore, it is necessary to study a new insulation resistance detection method with a rapid response, high estimation accuracy and high reliability.…”
