A Novel Dynamic Link Connectivity Strategy Using Hello Messaging for Maintaining Link Stability in MANETs

Abstract: Maintaining link stability among randomly deployed network nodes is one of the key challenges for effective communication in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). Under uniform speed and random trajectory of mobile nodes, there must be a unified model to determine an adequate strategy that addresses the issue of link stability in MANETs. We present a novel dynamic link connectivity (DLC) strategy that maintains link stability through efficient link connectivity among the neighboring nodes using Hello messaging. We … Show more

“…The nodes mobility makes the network topology very unstable and causes path-breaking. Several protocols [11][12][13] have been proposed to contribute to solving this problem. In most of these routing schemes, a new path-discovery process is launched once a path rupture is detected.…”

“…If a node has insufficient resources or a high volume of data, QoS efficiency will suffer as a result of traffic congestion at that node. Some routing protocols include extra node parameters such as available bandwidth and link reliability [9][10][11]. Alternated paths provide more reliable connectivity in MANETs with dynamic topology changes [12].…”
