A Novel Dual-Band Scheme for Magnetic Resonant Wireless Power Transfer

Abstract: In this paper, a novel dual-band scheme is proposed and analyzed for dual-band magnetic resonant wireless power transfer. The scheme consists of a novel resonant coil structure for dualband resonance and a coupling loop for dual-band impedance matching. Circuit-based analysis and experiments verify that our scheme can achieve dual-band power transfer easily and effectively, with its dual-band reflection coefficient lower than −18 dB and transmission efficiency over 37.21% at a distance of 20 cm at 6.78 MHz and… Show more

“…Wireless power transfer mechanism for driving multiple loads is recently in demand due to gigantic advancement in consumer portable electronic devices. The feasibility of the wireless power transfer to multiple loads has been widely well studied and proven to be efficient as well as comparatively better in terms of power delivery ability [1][2][3][4][5][6]. Multi-receiver WPT systems have gained many successful applications with the provision of power division and control among the receivers as well as selective power transfer to the receiver [7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14].…”

“…Multi-coil [1], [2], [3] and single-coil [4], [5], [6] design approaches are used to achieve the aforementioned intentions. Nevertheless, similar with any front-end designs, both methods come with their respective downsides.…”

“…There are two foremost approaches used in the design of dual-band coils specifically multi-coil [4][5][6][7][8][9], and single-coil approach [10][11][12][13][14][15]. The latter has a slight edge with lesser cross coupling [10].…”
