A novel color image encryption scheme using fractional-order hyperchaotic system and DNA sequence operations

Abstract: In this paper, Adomian decomposition method (ADM) with high accuracy and fast convergence is introduced to solve the fractional-order piecewise-linear (PWL) hyperchaotic system. Based on the obtained hyperchaotic sequences, a novel color image encryption algorithm is proposed by employing a hybrid model of bidirectional circular permutation and DNA masking. In this scheme, the pixel positions of image are scrambled by circular permutation, and the pixel values are substituted by DNA sequence operations. In the… Show more

“…us, the proposed algorithm could detect minuscule alterations to the plaintext and was able to repel a differential attack. e proposed method was also compared with reference methods [36,37,43,51] for the encrypted Lena image, as presented in Table 9. e NPCR and UACI values for the proposed method are superior, as they are higher than the values obtained using the reference methods.…”

“…Recently there has been growing attention in finding chaotic systems with special qualities. Systems with no equilibrium [3], [4], with stable equilibria [5], [6], with curves of equilibria [7][8][9], with surface of equilibria [10][11][12], with multi-scroll attractors [13], with hidden attractors [14], [15], with amplitude control [16], [17], with simplest form , having hyperchaos [18][19][20], having fractional order form [21][22][23], with topological horseshoes [24], [25], and with extreme multistability [26][27][28][29], are examples of them. Another major category of chaotic systems includes periodically-forced nonlinear oscillators [30].…”

“…SaberiKamarposhti et al [27] proposed hybrid image encryption algorithm through DNA sequences and a logistic map. However, compared with the general chaotic system, the fractional-order system has nonlocal character and high nonlinearity, and the encryption algorithm of fractional-order chaotic has higher security features [20,28]. Compared with the general chaotic system, dynamic features of the memristor chaotic system depend not only on system parameters but also on the initial conditions of memristor retention internal state variables [29,30].…”
