A Novel Chemical Sensor Based on Sb2S3 Film for Highly Sensitive Detection of Hydrazine

Abstract: The Sb2S3 film on indium‐tin oxide (ITO) substrate has been used as an efficient electron transfer mediator for the fabrication of novel chemical sensor towards hydrazine, which is a diamine known as neurotoxin and carcinogen. Sb2S3 film is deposited on ITO substrate by drop‐casting process using Sb2S3 solution as precursor and possesses reticular structure with the morphology of uniform hollow hemispheres. The fabricated chemical sensor for selective detection of hydrazine displays a high sensitivity of 106.2… Show more

“…In developing Biosensors, the analytical parameters like pH or Pka of the working medium plays a very important role in enhancing the analytical response like sensitivity and selectivity of the modi ed electrode towards the electrooxidation of hydrazine. The pKa value of N 2 H 4 is 8 and hence it is in its neutral form (N 2 H 4 ) when the pH of solution is 8, it is in its protonated form when the pH value of the medium is less than 8 and it is in its deprotonated form when pH is just above 8 [23]. Therefore, the in uence of solution pH on the peak potential and peak current at which the oxidation of N 2 H 4 takes has been studied in detail at different pH solutions ranging from pH 4 (acetate buffer) to pH 9 (phosphate buffer) and depicted in Fig.…”

“…Among innumerous semiconductors, metal chalcogenides, i.e., group V–VI semiconductors, have attracted a great deal of interest due to their novel properties and applications in different fields, such as lithium‐ion batteries, sensors, and field emission (FE) . Bi 2 S 3 belongs to the family of metal chalcogenide of type A 2 B 3 (A = As, Sb, and Bi; B = S, Se, and Te) and has a narrow direct bandgap of 1.3 eV.…”
