Abstract: Currently, no in vivo laboratory model is available for evaluating anthelmintics against the important ruminant helminth Haemonchus contortus. This report outlines a novel anthelmintic assay utilizing immunosuppressed (0.02% hydrocortisone in feed) jirds, Meriones unguiculatus, infected with H. contortus.
