Abstract: This paper presents a single-phase transformerless grid-connected photovoltaic converter based on two cascaded full bridges with different dc-link voltages. The converter can synthesize up to nine voltage levels with a single dc bus, since one of the full bridges is supplied by a flying capacitor. The multilevel output reduces harmonic distortion and electromagnetic interference. A suitable switching strategy is employed to regulate the flying-capacitor voltage, improve the efficiency (most devices switch at t… Show more

“…Through repeating this cell [8,9] in cascading configuration, the output levels number can be increased to n levels. It is worth mentioning that increasing the number of cells is not affecting the voltage stresses over the power switches [10].So, in this project two modulation schemes are investigated to achieve the sinusoidal waveforms on the output: (a) low-frequency modulation scheme, (b) sinusoidal pulse-width modulation(SPWM)scheme. Table II Switching Table of Proposed System Table II shows the switching table for proposed system.…”

“…In recent years, multilevel inverters have become more attractive for single-and three-phase systems [14][15][16][17][18]. The most common multilevel converter topologies, presented in literature, are the neutral-point-clamped (NPC), flying capacitor (FC) and cascaded H-Bridge (CHB) converters [18][19][20][21].…”
