“…The Zn–Al oxynitride precursor was indexed as Zn–Al LDH (JCPDS 38-0486) (Figure ). The two reflections at 2θ = 11.7° ( d 003 = 0.75 nm) and 23.5° ( d 006 = 0.38 nm) confirm the production of carbonate-intercalated LDH . The intense narrow peaks indicate that the as-prepared Zn–Al LDH exhibits high crystallinity and a large crystallite size.…”

“…The FT-IR spectra of samples prepared at 773–873 K were similar to Zn–Al LDH but with lower transmittance, suggesting that some of Zn–Al LDHs remained (Figure S1). After the nitridation at a higher temperature (>873 K), the O–H vibrations at around 3400 and 1600 cm –1 were barely observed, and CO 3 2– vibrations at around 1360 and 770 cm –1 disappeared due to the collapse of the layered structure and transformation to oxide species. The presence of O–Zn–N, Zn–N, and Al–N peaks at 1510, 1380, and 710 cm –1 confirms the incorporation of an N dopant into the oxide lattice.…”

“…The presence of the Tyndall effect indicates the formation of a colloidal suspension. Zhang et al 68 reported a new strategy to exfoliate LDH by using supercritical ethanol. The procedure involves the intercalation of anionic surfactant into the decarbonated LDH by ion exchange, followed by an exfoliation of the surfactant-intercalated LDH in supercritical ethanol.…”

“…AFM images indicate that the thickness of LDH nanosheets falls in the range of 2–4 nm, meaning the successful exfoliation. Compared with the liquid phase exfoliation in formamide mostly, the using of supercritical ethanol is harmless and easy to be removed 55…”
