Previous studies have tried using SUVs to measure DaTSCAN uptake [21,22]; however, Toriihara et al concluded that SBR values are preferable over SUVs when trying to distinguish between neurodegenerative Parkinsonian syndromes and SWEDD [22]. This could be explained by SUVs being normalized to body weight despite previous publications showing no correlation between body habitus and uptake in the brain [2,34,35]; therefore, we decided to calculate the uptake by normalizing concentration to the administered activity to create the normalized concentrations and NSU quantitative indices.…”
