“…Three species of Locustacarus are endoparasites in the tracheal system of their hosts (two species on acridids and one species on bumblebees). Locustacarus spp., along with three species of Ovacarus Stannard & Vaishampayan, 1971 and Parobia lawsoni Seeman & Nahrung, 2005, constitute true endoparasites of the family Podapolipidae (see Stannard & Vaishampayan, 1971;Husband, 1974;Husband & Husband, 1996;Seeman & Nahrung, 2005;Hajiqanbar et al, 2007). Podapolipus includes 29 ectoparasitic species in which two species parasitise Blattodea, 12 species Coleoptera and 15 species Acrididae (see Husband et al, 2008), but only Podapolipoides has an exclusive association with grasshoppers.…”
