A modified mathematical model for lifetime enhancement in wireless sensor network

Abstract: Enhancement of lifetime in static sensor network is an exigent task owing to limited power supply and restricted accessibility of sensor nodes. At every round of data transfer not all source nodes necessitate sending data to sink and hence tune itself to sleep mode. This paper utilizes the sleep-mode nodes as relays in transferring data from a transmitter to receiver for boosting energy efficiency in the network. Simple geometrical properties in modeling are used in the mathematics involved for choosing the mo… Show more

“…The TDOA is a relatively simple algorithm that only requires strict time synchronization between sensor nodes, eliminating the need for synchronization between sensor nodes and the clock of the mobile nodes. The principle is to locate the wireless emitter based on the time difference of wireless signals arriving at different sensor nodes [14][15][16]. As shown in Figure 3, the specific steps of the TDOA algorithm are as follows.…”

“…According to the functional requirements of the system, the measurement and control system of step motor based on wireless sensor network is put forward in combination with the current detection equipment and the environment of the workshop. [14] The control strategy of decentralized detection and centralized management is adopted to integrate the detection data and improve the detection efficiency, in this way, the data sharing of the detection data and the workshop management system can be realized. At the same time, the use of wireless communication technology instead of the partial wired cable avoids the complexity of the workshop wiring and improves the scalability and mobility of the equipment.…”

“…In their work, a polynomial-time approximation algorithm with a worst-case performance ratio of 5/3 was presented. Given the same conditions, Zhong et al, developed an approximation algorithm of which the worst-case performance ratio reaches 3/2 [2][3][4][5][6][7][8].…”
