Abstract: The National Committee on Education continues to receive inquiries from AORN memhership relating to three major issues. First is the trend of nursing student education to decrease or eliminate operating room clinical experience. This continues to he a volatile subject of debate. Second is the apparent shortage of registered nurses for the operating room and the increasing use of technicians.
