A Look Back at Some Early Results in Membrane Computing

Abstract

There have been tremendous research activities in the area of membrane computing initiated by Gheorghe Pȃun in a seminal paper [1] ten years ago (see also [2]). Membrane computing identifies an unconventional computing model, namely a P system, from natural phenomena of cell evolutions and chemical reactions.
