A Joint Channel Selection and Routing Protocol for Cognitive Radio Network

Abstract: In cognitive radio network, the activities of primary users will cause great influence on the stability of multiple hops routes between cognitive users. In this regard, a joint channel selection and routing protocol, termed as CSRP, is proposed to ensure route stability and reduce route latency between cognitive users. The channel availability based on historical information and the channel switching delay are used as the channel selection criteria to choose the end-to-end shortest route which possesses high d… Show more

“…Under the effect of Rayleigh fading channels, the BLAR and AR relay schemes with decode and forward relays are examined to study the system's performance. Joint selection of channel and routing algorithm, called CSRP is presented in [33] to guarantee the route consistency and minimise the route lag between users. The availability of channel based on past data and the delay in channel switching are utilised as channel selection conditions to select the end‐to‐end shortest path which has probability of delivering high data and reduced delays.…”

“…On the other hand, to implement the recommended CROP, the succeeding hop selection and the smart spectrum selection methodology are formulated. Moreover, a routing protocol and a joint channel selection technique, referred to as CSRP, have been suggested in [27], which can efficiently minimise the number of channel failures by analysing the channel's historical information and thereby routing maintenance to adapt to the multi‐channel CRN's environment. In [28], the challenging issues are introduced in relation to the selection of the channel for sensing after utilising prediction, to improve the throughput of the CU.…”

“…Wang et al [11] proposed a Joint Channel Selection (JCS) and a routing protocol for the CR network. A joint interaction between channel selection and routing protocol creates switching delay and account availability to select the shortest delay as the best path.…”
