A General Strategy for Nanohybrids Synthesis via Coupled Competitive Reactions Controlled in a Hybrid Process

Abstract: A new methodology based on core alloying and shell gradient-doping are developed for the synthesis of nanohybrids, realized by coupled competitive reactions, or sequenced reducing-nucleation and co-precipitation reaction of mixed metal salts in a microfluidic and batch-cooling process. The latent time of nucleation and the growth of nanohybrids can be well controlled due to the formation of controllable intermediates in the coupled competitive reactions. Thus, spatiotemporal-resolved synthesis can be realized … Show more

“…These features are located between the corresponding values obtained for pure Fe 2 O 3 and Fe 2 SiO 4 which are considered to contain only Fe 3+ and Fe 2+ ions, respectively26. Similar phenomena in the binding energy shift for 2p 3/2 and 2p 1/2 peaks can also be found in pure Fe 3 O 4 and other oxides that contain both Fe 2+ and Fe 3+ ions2327. In addition, the 2p 3/2 peak of Fe ions in Ce-doped YIG ferrite can be divided into two peaks located at 710.8 eV for and 709.5 eV for as determined by fitting of the spectra using Lorentzian-Gaussian method.…”

“…Since XPS allows to probe only a limited region near surface, it is indispensable for probing the charge transfer in interfacial region of 2D nanosheet‐based hybrid materials. The chemical shift caused by the hybridization provide valuable information about the interfacial electronic coupling between the hybridized components . Another important X‐ray spectroscopy applicable for inorganic nanosheets and their nanohybrids is X‐ray absorption fine structure (XAFS).…”

“…[15][16][17] It also allows for an increased exibility in analysing the mechanisms of each of these stages. [18][19][20] These benets arise from small channel widths, high surface area to volume ratios and small overall volumes. The disadvantage of using reactors with a high surface area to volume ratio is that there is a higher chance of fouling and accumulation of material on the walls of the channel.…”
