A comparison of two feedforward control structure assessment methods

Abstract: The most common loop in an industrial plant is a SISO-loop with a PI(D) controller. If the loop is affected by disturbances, these can be handled by adding a feedforward control action. In an industrial control system there are many measured signals, apart from those of the loop, available. The question we address in this article is how to select the feedforward variable out of the available measurements. A comparison is made of two methods for feedforward control structure assessment. The first is a method ba… Show more

“…The other method removes the velocity loop to improve the response speed of position loop. But it has weak adaptation to big changes of load [19]. Lithography machine movement is characterized with small changes of load and high requirement of response speed, the later control strategy is adopted in this paper.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…Many different PID-based control structures have been considered as an effective means for obtaining high performance while retaining simple implementation of the control system. In this context it is worth highlighting (in addition to the above-mentioned decoupling strategies) structures and tuning techniques for dead time compensation schemes [22], for cascade [41] and ratio control systems [50,51] and methods for designing feedforward control actions (both for the set-point following task [28,49,53] and for the load disturbance rejection task [11,27,44]). It should be stressed that the challenging issue in a PID-based control system is to achieve a suitable combination of the block scheme design and the tuning of the controller parameters.…”
