A cloud service for COTS component-based architectures

Abstract: The management of software architectures is an important subject, especially in component-based web user interfaces to enhance their accessibility, dynamism and management at run-time. The Cloud offers some favorable mechanisms for this kind of systems, since it allows us to manage the software remotely, guarantees high availability of the resources and enables us to perform mass-storage. This article presents an infrastructure solution, based on the use of web services and cloud computing, for managing COTS-b… Show more

“…These architectures are managed by the COScore infrastructure and provided to the clients for their deployment, as show in Figure 2. It is noteworthy to remark that this figure shows an example of management over a mashup user interface [3]. In the current approach, the COScore is used to manage complete home automation installations, including graphical components for user interfaces and non-graphical components for the rest of purposes (e.g., controllers, actuators, etc.…”

“…A cloud infrastructure for the management of mashup UI can be a natural approach. In previous works a series of Web services, located in the platform-independent layer of a cloud infrastructure, have been created to support component-based architectures of mashup UI [3,4]. These services include features such as managing users, component or sessions; and the administration of modules, controllers and databases that underlies below.…”
