Abstract: Objectives In approximately 15% of cases of spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), an obvious source of bleeding cannot be identified by angiography; these are considered cases of SAH of unknown etiology. A rare case of cisternal pilocytic astrocytoma (PA) presenting with SAH is reported.
