Abstract: IN HIGH-SPEED A/D converters the all-parallel conversion mcthodgives the best speed performance and signal sampling can be donc digitally by latching comparators. The penalty for the all parallel operation is the increased circuit complexity. A 7-bit converter for example, needs 127 comparators, which consume substantial power and require a large chip area.
