Abstract:Of 718 patients treated for peptic ulcer by vagotomy between 1968 and 1978, 642 were evaluated using a questionnaire; 55 patients were reported dead: 51 from unrelated causes, 1 from cancer of the cardia, and 3 with chronic drug abuse from massive GI bleeding. Self-evaluation and
