Efficacy of platelet‐poor plasma gel in combination with fractional CO2 laser in striae distensae: A clinical, histological, and immunohistochemical study

Abstract: Striae distensae (SD) are cosmetically unacceptable form of atrophic cutaneous scaring that may be associated with significant emotional distress. The pathophysiology of SD is not well established yet. However, they are supposed to be associated with impairment of fibroblasts function and aberration of connective tissue organization. Although many therapies have been tried for SD, results are often modest and there is no definite gold standard treatment modality. 1,2
