Abstract: Replicative DNA polymerases achieve insertion fidelity by geometric selection of a complementary nucleotide followed by induced fit: movement of the fingers subdomain toward the active site to enclose the incoming and templating nucleotides generating a binding pocket for the nascent base pair.
