Objective: to identify the professionals' perception regarding family-centered care. Methods: this is a crosssectional descriptive study with 60 professionals from a pediatric intensive care unit. The Brazilian Family-Centered Care Perception instrument was applied. Data were analyzed using descriptive and analytical statistics, Student's t-test and Mann-Whitney test were used to compare variables. Results: the mean of the familycentered perception of care was 2.93 (±0.27), the median of 2.90, a maximum score of 3.50 and minimum of 2.30. Most professionals (60.0%) considered that family-centered care is sometimes practiced. The mean scores did not have statistically significant differences between the characterization variables of the team. Conclusion: perception of care distant from the recommendations of an extended care that aggregate the child and his family. Descriptors: Pediatric Nursing; Child; Family; Critical Care. Objetivo: identificar a percepção dos profissionais com relação ao cuidado centrado na família. Métodos: estudo descritivo transversal com 60 profissionais de uma unidade de terapia intensiva pediátrica e aplicou-se o instrumento Percepção do Cuidado Centrado na Família-Equipe versão brasileira. Os dados foram analisados a partir da estatística descritiva e analítica, utilizou-se o teste t-Student e o teste de Mann-Whitney para comparação entre as variáveis. Resultados: a média do escore de percepção do cuidado centrado na família foi 2,93 (±0,27), mediana de 2,90, escore máximo de 3,50 e mínimo de 2,30. A maioria dos profissionais (60,0%) considerou que o cuidado centrado na família às vezes é praticado. Os escores médios não apresentaram diferenças estatisticamente significantes entre as variáveis de caracterização da equipe. Conclusão: percepção de cuidado distante das recomendações de um cuidado ampliado que agrega a criança e sua família.

The relationship between healthcare providers and parents of infants in neonatal intensive care unit is based on trust and constitutes a core measure of family‐centred care and health. The aim of the present qualitative study was to explore mothers and nurses experiences of trust in one another around the caregiving of the hospitalised infant in intensive neonatal care unit. Focused ethnographic research study conducted through observations and in‐depth interviews with 20 mothers and 16 nurses in NICU of Tabriz (Iran) in 2017. Two main themes of ‘gradual and fragile trust of mother‐to‐nurse’ (subthemes: Primary trust‐mistrust, mother's trust to responsible nurse, mother trust Increase with skilful nurse performance, and vulnerability to trust) and ‘gradual and fragile trust of nurse‐to‐mother’ (subthemes: Nurse's initial assessment of trust to mother's readiness to participate, Development of trust to mother, and vulnerability of nurse's trust to mother) were obtained. The present study revealed that mutual trust between the nurse and the mother in the care of the infant was a gradual and progressive process that was achieved over time. Complexities around the care of a hospitalised infant influenced how fragile or vulnerable the trust became between nurse and mother. Findings from this research can be used in supporting increased maternal participation in infant care and improvement of family‐centred care in the neonatal intensive care unit.

RESUMO Objetivo: identificar os principais diagnósticos de enfermagem (DE) em famílias de crianças hospitalizadas e descrever as intervenções de enfermagem (IE) em um grupo de apoio aos pais e familiares (GRAPF) dessas crianças. Método: pesquisa descritiva, de abordagem quantiqualitativa, realizada na unidade de internação pediátrica de um hospital universitário, localizado em Goiânia, Goiás, Brasil. Os dados foram coletados de fevereiro a julho/2010, por meio de gravação e transcrição de 12 encontros do GRAPF. Pesquisa aprovada por Comitê de Ética, protocolo 153/2009. Resultados: foram identificados os DE padrão de sono prejudicado, manutenção do lar prejudicada, conhecimento deficiente, comunicação verbal prejudicada, risco de baixa autoestima situacional, paternidade ou maternidade prejudicada, tensão do papel de cuidador, processos familiares interrompidos, interação social prejudicada, síndrome do estresse por mudança, sentimento de impotência e medo e conforto prejudicado; e duas IE, aumento da socialização e educação para saúde. Conclusão: famílias de crianças hospitalizadas precisam receber informações e suporte emocional dos profissionais de saúde.
