O estudo teve como objetivo descrever as características das auditorias realizadas pela Secretaria Estadual de Saúde de Pernambuco, em 2013. Foram analisados 118 relatórios obtidos por meio do Sistema de Informação de Auditoria do Sistema Único de Saúde. Os resultados mostraram que as auditorias se concentraram na primeira região de saúde. A maioria destas atividades foi demandada pela própria Secretaria Estadual de Saúde, realizada de forma direta, e teve como objeto a assistência à saúde. O grupo que apresentou mais inconformidades foi a assistência de média e alta complexidades, sendo que a maior parcela delas não foi justificada pelos auditados.
