Abstract: The present investigation describes the synthesis and structural study of a metal-zinc ligand [ZnL.H2O], which was used to generate three dimensional supramolecular complex formulated as [Y{Zn(L)(SCN)}(SCN)2].[Y{Zn(L)(SCN)}2(DMF)2].(NO3). The title compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group P-1 with the following unit cell parameters: a = 14.8987(7) Å, b = 15.6725(8) Å, c = 19.2339(10) Å, a = 94.610(4)°, β = 103.857(4)°, γ = 101.473(4)°, V = 4234.4(4) Å3, Z = 2, R1 = 0.063 and wR2 = 0.96. For this comp… Show more

“…In all, there are thirteen entries for hetero trinuclear 3d-4f-3d complexes in which the 3d metal ion is Zn 2+ [DEJKUZ and DEJLIO (Wong et al, 2006), DUCKAO, DUCKOC, DUCKUI, DUCLAP and DUCLET (Wang et al, 2009), EJAGIG (Liao et al, 2010), GICCEC and GICCIG (Yang et al, 2013), QUQKUK, QUQLAR and QUQLEV (Sun et al, 2016)]. Combinations of mononuclear and hetero dinuclear coordination complexes as co-crystals are observed in three cases [BICBEW and BICBIA (Biswas et al, 2013b), KAZPOT (Andrez et al, 2017)], while the combination of hetero dinuclear and hetero trinuclear coordination complexes as a co-crystal is observed in one case (Sarr et al, 2018).…”

“…One of the most studied ions is Na+ and some structures containing this element of the bock s and an element of the block d show that the element s is located in the larger site while the transition ion is in the smaller site [6,7,15,16]. The Schiff base bis (2-hydroxy-3methoxybenzylidene)-1, 2-diaminobenzene, is widely used for synthetizing several 3d/Na heteronuclear complexes whose structures show that the element of s-block is still located in the larger open site, while the d-block element is situated in the smaller closed site [16,17]. Organic molecules with phenolic oxygen atoms are perspective that the work we report focused on the use of the H 2 L Schiff base (H2L = N, N ' -Phenylene-bis-(3-methoxysalicylideneimine)) which has two inners capable to encapsulate two ions of different natures.…”
