Abstract: Tecoma stans plant is well postulated to decrease blood glucose level, but its mode of action and the molecules responsible are still controversial. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of leaves methanol extract of Tecoma stans and some of its fractions on starch tolerance in healthy rats, in vitro inhibition of α-amylase, and their effects of subchronic administration of glucose, lipid pattern, kidney and liver functions and antioxidant status in streptozotocin (STZ) induced diabetic rats. … Show more

“…As the total antioxidant activity of solvent extracts from natural sources is mostly attributed to phenolic constituents (Taher et al 2016 ;Taher et al 2018), a correlation analysis of total phenolics and flavonoids estimated in pea peels extracts with their antioxidant activity was performed and the results are shown in table (4). The Pearson's correlation coefficient between total polyphenol content of pea peels extracts with IC 50 values of DPPH(R = -0.770, p < 0.127) , NO (R = -0.779, p < 0.121) and H 2 O 2 (R = -0.789, p < 0.291) assays presented insignificant correlation .…”

“…Treatment of 1H-pyrazolo [3,4- The action of one equivalent of the various alkylating agents (allyl chloride, propargyl chloride, benzyl chloride) on the pyrazolo [3,4-d] pyrimidine-4 (5H)-thione in DMF for 48 hours under conditions of the phase transfer catalysis (CTP) using BTBA as the catalyst and the carbonate potassium as a base [10,11], allows the exclusive alkylation of the sulfur atom and thus leads to formation of the S-alkylation product with a yield of 65% (Scheme 2). The structures of compounds c-e were determined by spectroscopic methods.…”

“…Inhibitors of α-amylase and αglucosidase can delay the digestion of carbohydrates in the small intestine and reduce the level of postprandial blood glucose [7]. Many studies have searched for safe and effective inhibitors of α-amylase and α-glucosidase from medicinal plants to treat T2DM [8][9][10][11].…”
