Abstract: A novel oxime ligand has been synthesized by refluxing 3,3'-diaminobenzedine and phthalaldehyde monoxime. Copper (II), cobalt (II), nickel (II) and manganese (II) binuclear complexes of this ligand have been prepared and characterized by using elemental analysis, molar conductance studies, IR, UV, NMR, EPR and magnetic studies. The molar conductance measurements correspond to a non-electrolytic nature for all complexes which can be formulated as [M2(L)X4] (Where M = Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and Mn(II); X = Cl − … Show more

“…All the complexes were solids , stable in air and decomposed at a degree above(149 °C ) , they are insoluble in most organic solvent but soluble in DMF and DMSO . The molar conductance values of (10 -3 M) solution of metal complexes in DMF and DMSO were in the range(3.97-28.88 )ohm -1 cm 2 mol -1 and (2.55-21.20) ohm -1 cm 2 mol -1 respectively indicating non electrolytic nature of these complexes (20,21) .…”

“…The magnetic measurements indicates that dinuclear Ni (II) complexes (3, 11) are diamagnetic and the electronic spectra of these complexes showed two bands at (18518, 24396) cm -1 and (16666, 24096) cm -1 , which assigned to 1 A 1 g → 1 A 2 g and 1 A 1 g → B 1 g trasition respectively, these results suggest a square planar geometry around Ni (II) (Raman et al, 2007), while the magnetic measurements of complexes (7, 15) were found to be (2.92 and 2.79) B.M, and the electronic spectra of these complexes show two bands at (21186 , 24271) cm -1 and (20618, 23529) cm -1 assigned to 3 A 2 g (F) → 3 T 1 g (F) and 3 A 2 g (F) → 3 T 1 g (p) transition respectively, which indicating an octahedral geometry around the Ni(II) ions. (Jayaseelan et al, 2011;Al-Daher et al, 2018).…”
