Abstract:Arylsulfonates are a useful class of synthetic precursors, affording either their arylamine or arylsulfonamide counterparts upon amination via regioselective C–O/S–O bond cleavage. Herein, the synthesis of 2,4-dinitrophenyl 2,4,6-trimethylbenzenesulfonate is described, utilizing our previously developed synthetic methods, and crystallographic characterization. While the mechanism for nucleophilic substitution at the sulfonyl group remains largely unknown, experimental work within our group and in the literatur… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
