This article presents raw inferential statistical data that determine the IT Governance effectiveness on the IT Performance.To identify influence mechanism Information Technology Governance (ITG) on Effectiveness ITG and IT Performance.Data were collected from respondents in all regions of Indonesia. Quantitative research methods are used to analyze data. The structured questionnaire was distributed to respondents in all regions of Indonesia who understood the field of IT Governance in Higher University whose reliability and validity were confirmed. Structural equation modeling (SEM) using Smart PLS software, version 3, is used to present data. SEM path analysis shows an estimate of the relationship of the main constructs in the data The results obtained from this dataset shows positive relationship between mechanism Structure, Process and Relation to IT Governance effectiveness, consciousness also has a significant influence on the IT Performance and positive relationship between IT Governance effectiveness and IT Performance. However, mechanism structure and process has proven to have a negative and insignificant influence on the IT Performance Effective IT governance related to mechanism ITG and IT Performance level of unit analysis. One of the more significant findings to emerge from this study is that evaluate the mechanism ITG impact to effective IT governance that focus on higher education institution (HEI). This study already examines a validation of evaluation model and collecting data in particular higher education institution (HEI) as a single case study.

Information Technology (IT) governance is one of the concepts currently emerging along with the development of IT. In fact, many organisations have started implementing IT governance that aims to align their operations with IT effectively. This paper aims to investigate how IT governance mechanisms are related to audit technology performance in Malaysia whereby the focus is on internal auditors from private sector. A quantitative method with a questionnaire instrument was used. The questionnaire items were based on indicators suggested by previous literature. Thirty-hundred and seventy (370) questionnaires were distributed and completed questionnaires were analysed using SPSS version 27. Based on the regression analysis, two independent variables, namely top management support and IT support service are positively and significantly related to audit technology performance. The other two independent variables, IT strategy and IT steering committee are not significantly related to audit technology performance. These findings are relevant to both auditors and organisations. They highlight the importance of top management support and IT support service to the effectiveness of using technology in internal audit. A good IT governance helps organisation to utilise IT in realising its business strategic goals.

Purpose Project portfolio management (PPM) is a managerial technique used to seek the strategic goals of organizations improving their performance. The public sector has some characteristics that differ from the private sector, since their management approaches are different. The purpose of this paper is to compare the PPM’s practices and techniques in the public and private sectors. Design/methodology/approach This paper uses the study case methodology through eight case studies that were undertaken in Brazil: four in public and four in private sectors. The field research used semi-structured interviews that were analyzed using the NVivo software. Findings In both sectors, strategic alignment is the goal of PPM, and the same tools are employed. The public sector displays better process documentation and lower risk awareness than the private sector, showing an improvement point for the public sector. The selection and prioritization criteria differ from each sector, showing the difference in the strategic goals of public and private sectors. Research limitations/implications The limitations of this paper are related to the number of organizations studied; however, the case studies represent organizations from different sectors and industries maximizing heterogeneity, but focusing on Brazil. Social implications The prioritization and effective allocation of projects spending in the Brazilian public sector could be improved with the comparison of their current practices with the ones used in private sector, increasing its transparency and cost allocation. Originality/value This study broadens the understanding of PPM in the public sector, which is a gap in the academic literature, comparing its practices with those used in the private sector.
