The object of the study is the personnel potential of aviation. The paper considers the problem of the effectiveness of monitoring the quality of airline personnel. According to the results of the study, it was stated that the stable growth in the volume of international cargo and passenger air transportation requires full-fledged provision of aviation with highly qualified specialists, a shortage of which has been observed in airlines in most countries of the world for several years. It is emphasized that a shortage of highly qualified specialists can be avoided only with the introduction of monitoring of the qualitative composition of the aviation personnel potential according to the competence approach. An algorithm has been developed for monitoring the qualitative composition of human resources based on the audit of compliance of professional competencies of civil aviation personnel with international standards of ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency), IATA (International Air Transport Association) using triangulation of mixed methods. The expediency of using the monitoring results as a fundamental basis for building a centralized information platform with open access to information resources on the qualitative composition of the personnel potential of airlines and the industry is justified. It is reasonable that the implementation in practice of the algorithm for monitoring human resources according to the competence approach will allow stakeholders to have a clear understanding of the level of professional competence of personnel and the need to improve it in the short term, which will accelerate the elimination of the existing shortage of highly qualified specialists by timely taking measures to amend state programs for training civil aviation specialists, improving their qualifications and certification. It is emphasized that the application of this algorithm is possible in the presence of a sectoral qualifications framework

Purpose: When we talk about "fatigue" in aviation maintenance, it's a term that is widely used but can have different meanings depending on the situation. In the context of maintenance personnel, "fatigue" can encompass physical tiredness, emotional exhaustion, the decline in skills from performing mentally demanding tasks over a long period, chronic fatigue due to insufficient rest, and even the unmet need for sleep. So, it's crucial to consider the specific context of aviation maintenance when discussing fatigue and its implications. Design: The research for this study is conducted by gathering information from a variety of sources, including case studies, journal articles, magazines, books, and internet searches. These secondary sources offer valuable insights that contribute to the overall understanding of the topic. Findings: The study investigates factors contributing to fatigue in Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMTs). Findings reveal that irregular and extended working hours, compounded by unpredictable schedules, contribute to persistent fatigue. High workload and time pressure amplify mental and physical strain, posing risks to safety. Sleep disruption and circadian rhythm disturbances adversely affect cognitive abilities. Environmental factors, including noise and harsh weather conditions, contribute to overall fatigue. Cumulative fatigue resulting from consecutive workdays without sufficient recovery time raises safety concerns. Organizational culture and support significantly impact AMT's experiences of fatigue, emphasizing the importance of a supportive work environment. Originality Value: This study takes a distinctive approach to examining the complex aspects of fatigue in aviation maintenance. It provides a comprehensive understanding by considering various factors that contribute to fatigue and their potential impact.

The integration of Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0 technologies in the aviation industry requires welltrained and adaptable aircraft maintenance technicians (AMT). This study examines the gap in digital competency assessment in the initial training of Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) technicians. To address this gap, the study develops a survey based on IR 4.0 digital competencies on seven dimensions, namely: problem-solving, communication, active learning, technical knowledge, analytical and critical thinking, technology skills and experience and lessons learned required for aircraft maintenance. The survey is validated by three expert panels specialising in aircraft maintenance and IR 4.0 readiness. A total of 234 AMTs participated in the survey, providing valuable demographic information about the respondents. Findings from the survey show a higher proportion of skilled AMT in the 21-30 and 31-40 age groups compared to low-skilled AMT. It is noteworthy that there are significant numbers of lowskilled and skilled AMTs in all squadrons. Many Air Corporals, Air Sergeants, and Flight Sergeants have high qualifications, but some have low qualifications. In addition, No. 12 Squadron has the highest percentage of low-skilled AMTs with less than five years of experience, while No. 10 Squadron has the highest percentage of those with more than ten years of experience. The descriptive analysis of the study sheds light on the skills and competencies of the AMT. From the results, there is a need to address and improve digital competencies, especially in the context of IR 4.0, to ensure a highly competent workforce in the aviation industry.
