Baccharis subgen. Molina (Asteraceae) no estado do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil

Abstract: Baccharis compreende ca. 340 espécies distribuídas nas Américas. Show more

“…While floristic inventories are available (Nesom 1990;Giuliano 2001;Müller 2006;Heiden 2009;Giuliano and Freire 2011;Heiden et al 2012), there was no infrageneric classification of the Brazilian species, with the exception of Heiden (2009), which is restricted to the 55 species of Rio de Janeiro State and recognized four subgenera and 15 sections. However, Heiden andPirani (2016a, 2016b) recently presented novel features for the infrageneric classification, based on a broad phylogenetic study encompassing seven subgenera and 45 sections, which still needs to be tested from a morpho-anatomical point of view to identify new potential synapomorphies of the main clades.…”

“…Male and female specimens of carquejas were collected in the cities of Ponta Grossa (25°08′ 30” S and 49° 58′ 51” W), Paraná state, Brazil (male: PRM and female: PRF), Paulínia (22° 45′ 40” S and 47° 09′ 15” W), and São Paulo state, Brazil (male: SPM and female: SPF). The samples were identified as B. trimera and B. myriocephala , according to Heiden et al [ 23 ]. Voucher specimens were deposited in the Herbarium from Embrapa Clima Temperado (ECT), Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil, under the numbers ECT0005576 and ECT0005575, respectively.…”

“…(Flora do Brasil 2020). Popularly known as "holy grass" in Brazilian flora (Barroso & Bueno 2002) it is recognized for its petiolate, lanceolate, elliptical to ovate leaves, with serrated margins and obtuse base, furrowed stems and heterogamous arrangement (Heiden et al 2012). The species B. vulneraria has a wide distribution in South America and is frequently found in southern Brazil, a country that has more than one hundred Baccharis species described, with B. coridifolia and B. megapotamica being the species commonly reported as toxic agents (Heiden 2009, Tokarnia et al 2012.…”
