Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis and Similar Conditions: New Tool to Measure the Coronal Plane

Abstract: Objective: To create a method to measure the overall coronal plane of the spine, called the sacral clavicular angle (SCA). Methods: A line is drawn at the base of the sacrum; a second central line is drawn perpendicular to the first one in the proximal extension of the spine. A third line is drawn passing through the intersections of the superior points of the clavicles with the two second ribs, forming two angles, the greater of which is measured.
