Thermal effect on free vibration analysis of functionally graded arbitrary straight-sided plates with different cutouts

Abstract: In this paper, free vibration of functionally graded nonuniform straight-sided plates with circular and non-circular cutouts has been investigated. Moreover, thermal effects on free vibration analysis and the effects of various parameters on natural frequencies of these plates were evaluated. The material properties were assumed to be graded across thickness, which vary according to the linear distribution law. The investigated parameters in this study are: (1) cutout size (2) type of loading (3) different bou… Show more

“…In order to obtain new results, it is assumed that the functionally graded plate is made of a mixture of Aluminum (E m = 70GPa) and Alumina (E c = 380GPa) with constant Poisson ratio (0.3) [11]. The mechanical load is assumed to be uniform in spatial domain. )…”

“…The thermal effect on free vibrations of FGM non-uni-form straight-sided plates with different shapes of cutouts was investigated by Janghorban and Zare. 14 Most of the finite-element (FE) software is based on FSDT, which is not suitable for moderately thick plates because FSDT requires the shear-correction factor. In the present analysis, a parabolic transverse-shear-strain deformation across the thickness is taken and consequently the need for the shear-correction factor is eliminated.…”

“…Navazi and Haddadpour (2011) analyzed the nonlinear flutter behavior and stability boundaries of isotropic and FGM plates in supersonic airflow, and showed that under real flight conditions and using coupled model, the aerodynamic heating is very severe and the type of instability is divergence. Janghorban and Zare (2011) examined the vibration analysis of a functionally graded plate with cutouts and skew boundary. In this work, the role of different parameters such as cutout size, type of loading and different boundary conditions on the vibration of the plate was reported.…”
