Abstract: Objective:The aim of this study was to determine the differences between the skeletal ages estimated by TW2 and TW3 methods through their RUS and Carpal systems.Material and Methods:A sample of two hundred and forty hand and wrist radiographs of male and female Brazilian children aged 84-199 months was evaluated by five observers. “…Since then, TW2 and TW3 have been tested in several countries and on different samples. In a Brazilian study by Ortega et al ,76 the range of mean difference between skeletal age and chronological age with the TW3 method of different age groups was −0.7–0.3 in boys and −0.4–0.8 in girls, and with the TW2 method −0.7–1.4 in boys and 0.6–1.9 in girls. The difference between TW2 and TW3 in the adolescent children was more than 1 year.…”

“…Two most preferred clinic attempts for estimating BA are the Greulich and Pyle (GP) method [2] and the Tanner and Whitehouse (TW) method [3,4], and were proposed in 1971 and 1937, respectively. Both methods are dependent on the analysis of the left-hand radiogram, but their characteristics vary widely in the evaluation processes.…”
