Abstract: -The dynamics of a population of the cabbage aphid, Brevicoryne brassicae (L.), was studied to estimate the impact of natural enemies and meteorological factors using simple correlation and stepwise regression. Apterous B. brassicae were sampled by visual search, and natural enemies by suction net and pitfall traps. The aphids began to infest kale in July, reaching peak population in September. The factors Diaeretiella rapae (Mc'Intosh), ground spiders, rainfall and relative humidity showed significant correla… Show more

“…After this period, very limited records focusing the postcolonization and the host range of aphid parasitoids on some cultivated plants were found in Brazil SousaSilva et al, 1998;Lara et al 1999;Fernandes et al 2000;Mendes et al, 2000;Pinto et al 2000;Cividanes 2002;Mussury & Fernandes. 2002;Ronquim et al 2004;Zanini et al 2006), and still fewer were found on ornamentals (Peronti 1999;Imenes et al 2002;Carvalho et al 2006).…”

“…The other studies reported that aphid population was highly influenced by the amount of rainfall (Nandagopal 2004, Atsebeha et al, 2009. The rainfall and relative humidity showed significant correlation with aphid population (Cividanes, 2002). Shahzad et al (2003) observed that population of A. craccivora increased with the increase in morning relative humidity and decreased with the increase in evening relative humidity.…”
