“…These results are equivalent to another study, which investigated the food intake of 230 children in day care centers in Brasília -DF and found that the habitual consumption profile showed up high in sugar and margarine and medium in biscuits and soda. The authors observed the early introduction of refined sugar, snack, soda, fast food, canned / processed meats and sweets/treats [20]. Similar data were obtained by The Oliveira et al [8], which analyzed the complementary feeding of children in the first two years of life and also identified an early start of complementary food consumption and an increase of refined sugar consumption with increasing age.…”
