Introduction: Futsal has become one of the most popular modalities in the international scenario. There are not many articles in the literature which report injuries in the female gender. Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify the prevalence of injuries in female athletes of Brazilian futsal. Methods: The sample corresponded to the athletes who participated in the National League of Futsal from 2011, totalizing 135 athletes. The prevalence of injuries reported during the entire 2010 season was investigated. Results: Out of the 135 athletes, 73 (54.1%) presented some kind of injury and 104 injuries were identified. Lower limb injuries accounted for 86.5% of the total, 28.9% (n = 30) on the ankle, 24% (n = 25) on the thigh and 23.1% on the knee (n = 24). Regarding the kind, 51.9% (n = 54) occurred without contact and 46.1% (n = 48) by direct contact. 59.6% of injuries occurred during technical/tactical or physical training (n = 62) and 40.4% (n = 42) occurred during games. 58.6% of injuries occurred for the first time and 40.4% were recurrent. No association between physiotherapeutic follow-up in training and competitions and the number and severity of injuries was found. Furthermore, no correlation between the dominant limb and hemi-body of the injury was found. Conclusions: The Brazilian women's futsal athletes have high prevalence of injuries, especially in the ankle, thigh and knee, and they mainly occur during training. Injuries that occur without contact with another opponent prevail in relation to with contact injury, a fact that contradicts the other findings in the literature. The number of first injuries was higher in comparison to recurrences, while in severity, moderate injuries were more common. In order to minimize the number of injuries, specific strategies are needed for prevention, focusing on the ankle, knee and thigh segments.

Purpose. The aim of the study was to determine differences in anteroposterior spine curvatures between futsal players, soccer players, and non-training students. The results may contribute to the development of present-day knowledge of posturometry, and its implementation in training can help reduce the risk of body posture disorders in athletes. Methods. The examined group consisted of 48 athletes and 38 non-training college students. body posture parameters were measured with the use of Posturometr-S. The normality of distribution was checked with the Shapiro-Wilk test, and the differences between the groups were measured with ANOVA and the bonferroni post-hoc test. The level of statistical significance was set at p < 0.05. Results. The analysis of angle values revealed the widest and most similar measurements in the group of futsal players and soccer players. The analysis of variance proved statistically significant differences between the soccer players and futsal players (p = 0.003). The difference between the soccer players and non-training students was statistically significant. The highest angular value was measured in non-training students, followed by futsal players and soccer players. The statistical analysis revealed significant differences between the non-training students and futsal players, as well as non-training students and soccer players (p < 0.001). Conclusions. A complex assessment of athletes' body posture is crucial in injury prevention. Training overloads may often lead to disorders of the organ of locomotion and affect the correct body posture in athletes. This, in turn, may result in pains and injuries.

no Brasil como nos demais países sul-americanos e também na Europa. É derivado do futebol de campo, adaptado pela falta de espaço para se jogar. Pode ser praticado em três tipos distintos de pisos, rigorosamente nivelados, sem declives nem depressões, prevenindo escorregões e acidentes. A movimentação em quadra exige súbita aceleração e desaceleração com bruscas mudanças de direção, expondo as estruturas osteomioarticulares a grandes impactos, aumentando o risco de lesões, que podem dever-se a fatores intrínsecos ou extrínsecos, nos quais se consideram, entre outras coisas, as condições e o tipo do piso utilizado. Objetivo: O propósito deste estudo foi analisar as possíveis influências do tipo de piso utilizado no futsal e as respostas adaptativas musculares em praticantes de futsal masculino. Métodos: A amostra foi composta por 10 praticantes de futsal, de 20 a 30 anos de idade. Através da eletromiografia de superfície, foi realizada a captação da atividade elétrica, por meio da raíz quadrada da média (root mean square -RMS) em µV e da força dos principais grupos musculares do membro inferior dominante em repouso depois de duas partidas de futsal, em dois tipos de pisos de quadras. Resultados: Os achados deste estudo, que envolveu parâmetros biomecânicos utilizados, mostraram não haver diferença significativa entre a prática de futsal na quadra de madeira e na quadra sintética, com tendência de aumento da atividade elétrica da musculatura anterior na quadra com piso de madeira e depois com o piso sintético. Conclusão: É necessário que se façam maiores investigações acerca dos possíveis mecanismos osteomusculares adaptativos que possam desvendar as reações a diferentes tipos de pisos das quadras em esportes como o futsal.Palavras-chave: eletromiografia, futebol, lesão muscular, força muscular.
