Quinolone resistance and ornithine decarboxylation activity in lactose-negative <italic>Escherichia coli</italic>

Abstract: Quinolones and fluoroquinolones are widely used to treat uropathogenic Escherichia coli infections. Bacterial resistance to these antimicrobials primarily involves mutations in gyrA and parC genes.
