Thermal stability of xylanases produced by Aspergillus awamori

Abstract: The effect of temperature on the activity and stability of endoxylanase and β-xylosidase from Aspergillus awamori was investigated. The growth of A. awamori in milled sugar cane bagasse produced predominantly extracellular endoxylanase (30 U/ml) and lower amounts of β-xylosidase (1.3 U/ml). Grown in sugar cane bagasse as the principal carbon source, the microorganism produced a quite stable β-xylosidase in a temperature range of 35-55°C, but it exhibited a lower thermostable endoxylanase. The thermostability o… Show more

“…The medium M-III supplemented with rice bran produced 8.75U/ml of enzyme after 24 h. Therefore in medium M-III sugarcane bagasse was better inducer for xylanase production at 48 h of fermentation. Similar results were obtained T. harzianum 22 and A. awamori 23 with sugarcane bagasse as a substrate for xylanase production. Different levels of xyalanse production were detected in medium (M-IV) supplemented with different agriculture wastes.…”

“…Specifically, the synthesis of xylanase, CMCase (a type of cellulase), α-amylase and exo-PG Xylanase production by A. awamori (a type of pectinase) by Aspergillus awamori was analyzed. We chose this microorganism because it had shown a very good performance in enzymes production by SSF on other substrates (11,21,33). In addition, a plate-type SSF bioreactor at lab scale was used in order to evaluate the effect of aeration on enzymes production.…”

“…According to their origin, hemicelluloses are made up predominantly of heteropolymeric xylans, arabans, arabinoxylans, manans and galactomanans. Because of that, it is necessary to know and investigate all the enzymes which hydrolysе starch and hemicellulose (8,13,4). Xylan biodegradation is performed by a xylanolytic enzyme complex, which is primarily produced by fungi and bacteria.…”

“…The industrial production of microbial enzymes started more than 100 years ago with the patenting of a process for the production of alpha-amylase from the fungus Aspergillus oryzae. Conditions for the cultivation and production of the enzyme α-amylase from the parent strain Aspergillus oryzae PP on starch consisting media have been listed in previous publications of our team (8).…”
