“…Knowing the severity of impact of mental disorders in childhood and, as well as the high rates of these disorders especially in poorer regions, our findings highlight the need for deployment and implementation of preventive mental health centers (Curto, Paula, do Nascimento, Murray, & Bordin, 2011;Paula, Lauridsen-Ribeiro, Wissow, Bordin, & Evans-Lacko, 2012). According to Fleitlich and Goodman (2002), these centers should be concentrated on the areas of lower socioeconomic level, where prevalence rates of mental health problems are higher, as in the region of this study. They should also prioritize prevention and treatment of the most common disorders, offering standardized tested treatments and diagnostic assessment.…”
