Submetido em 22/03/2011 Aceito para publicação em 03/11/2011 Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho foi descrever a morfologia macroscópica e microscopia de luz dos órgãos respiratórios do quati (Nasua nasua). Utilizou-se cinco animais provenientes do Criatório Científico CECRIMPAS (UNIfeob), os quais foram eutanasiados e fixados em solução de formaldeído a 10% para dissecação, análise e mensuração. Para microscopia de luz, os fragmentos dos órgãos respiratórios, foram processados conforme técnicas rotineiras para histologia e corados por Hematoxilina, Eosina e Azul de Toluidina. O nariz do quati está localizado em plano nasal, formato pontiagudo e voltado para cima, possui a concha etmoidal,/nasal dorsal e nasal ventral separadas pelos meatos: nasal dorsal e ventral. A laringe /possui as quatro cartilagens: aritenóide, cricoíde, epiglote e tireóide e a traqueia contém 34 anéis traqueais separados pelo ligamento traqueal, sendo internamente revestida pelo tecido epitelial pseudoestratificado ciliado. Os pulmões estão subdivididos em lobos por fissuras interlobares, o pulmão direito é dividido em quatro lobos e o esquerdo em dois, sendo este menor que o direito. Microscópicamente os brônquios primários, secundários e terciários possuem a mesma constituição de revestimento interno da traqueia. Concluímos que o aparelho respiratório do quati se assemelha aos achados descritos na literatura para os carnívoros domésticos.Palavras-chave: Morfologia, Quati, Respiratório

The spleen is a secondary lymphoid organ with importance in clinical surgery. Due this and the lack of data in the literature, the current paper analyzes the organ´s morphology and segmentation in collared peccaries. Twenty animals were used at the Center for the Multiplication of Wild Animals of the Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido, Mossoró RN Brazil. The spleen was removed with the splenic pedicle preserved, identifying the lineal artery and vein. Fragments from four spleens were harvested to be examined under light microscopy. They were fixed in a paraformaldehyde solution 4% and buffered with sodium phosphate 0.1M, pH 7.4. Routine histological techniques were performed: the spleens were dehydrated in increasing ethanol concentrations; diaphanized in xylol; soaked in paraffin; 7µm cuts were obtained and stained by hematoxylin-eosin or Gomori trichrome technique. The intraparenchemal vascularization of sixteen spleens were analyzed by latex or vinilite acetate perfusal of the lineal artery and vein and the organ fixed, respectively, in a water solution of formaldehyde 10% or immersed in a solution of sulfuric acid 30%. The collared peccary´s spleen had a tongue-like shape. Under the microscope, the spleen featured an intermediary type, with a great amount of white pulp, a predominance of red pulp and few trabeculae. The spleen´s segments had three different regions, namely dorsal, middle and ventral, in irrigation terms with a possible surgical removal of the dorsal region. Knowledge on the angio-architecture and segmentation of the spleen will be a contribution for surgical procedures in wild species, having a great relevance when partial splenectomy is required.

ResumoO Caiman crocodilus yacare é encontrado do norte da Argentina até o sul da bacia Amazônica, ocorrendo principalmente no Pantanal. Sua alimentação consiste de peixes e outros vertebrados aquáticos e invertebrados, como caranguejos, caramujos e insetos. Seu comprimento pode chegar a 3 m e essa espécie é importante porque proporciona controle biológico de outras espécies animais, ao se alimentar de indivíduos fracos, velhos e doentes, incapazes de escapar de seu ataque. Foram utilizados 15 jacarés, machos e fêmeas jovens, empregando técnicas histológicas; técnicas de injeção com Neoprene látex 450 e acetato de vinila; e técnicas radiográficas para observar particularidades do baço nessa espécie. O órgão apresenta forma cônica, sendo mais espesso na sua extremidade cranial e afilando-se em sua extremidade caudal. O baço envolveu a artéria mesentérica cranial, que se dirigiu aos intestinos, desde sua origem na artéria celíaca até o seu terço médio, pelo parênquima lienal em todas as preparações. A irrigação do baço de jacaré foi originada da artéria celíaca, por meio de seu ramo, a artéria mesentérica cranial, a qual se ramificou em artérias lienais, somente no interior desse órgão. As veias lienais apresentaram-se como as veias lienais cranial, craniomedial, medial e caudal que drenam da cápsula lienal à região medular, passando pela região cortical e dirigindo-se à veia porta hepática. O baço de jacaré não apresentou correspondência entre as artérias e as veias responsáveis pela vascularização de um determinado território lienal, mas foram observadas artérias que irrigaram e veias que drenaram áreas particulares do parênquima lienal.Palavras-chave: Baço; Caiman crocodilus yacare; Jacaré AbstractSpleen morphology and vascularization in the alligator (Caiman crocodilus yacare -Daudin, 1802).
