Abstract: A school-based cross-sectional study in 2007 evaluated the prevalence and associated factors of daily consumption of soft drinks, sweets and fried foods among adolescents (15 to 20 years of age) in public schools in Caruaru in the state of Pernambuco. The results found by Zanini and collaborators 30 in the northeast, showed a high consumption by adolescents of soft drinks, sweets and fried food per day; and 60% of the adolescents studied consumed at least one of the three items cited, and 10% consumed the three of them.
