Análise quantitativa e qualitativa do nível de conhecimento dos alunos do curso de fisioterapia sobre a atuação do fisioterapeuta em saúde pública

Introduction: Since 2008, with the establishment of Family Health Support Centers (NASF), physiotherapists have been listed among professionals to be included in the team. Physical therapists have many assignments in the NASF, which are conducted through group sessions, in the households, with complementary and integrative practices, lectures and referrals to reference services. Objective: To analyze role and obstacles to the realization of the work of the physiotherapists in NASF. Methods: This is a qualitative research, guided by the case study method. The population was composed by eight physiotherapists active in NASF. Participant observation and semi-structured interviews with physiotherapists were used for data collection. Results: The actions performed by physiotherapists consist of group assistance, home visits, ear therapy and oxygen therapy and activities of health education and disease prevention. As for the barriers, these included lack of training to work at NASF; structural and organizational impediments; insufficient workload and fragility of professional training to work with public health. Conclusion: The role of physiotherapists is in line, in part, with the guidelines recommended by NASF, but principles as matrix support and collective pacts need to be strengthened.

Physical therapy in primary health care: an integrative reviewLa fisioterapia en la atención primaria de salud: una revisión integrativa RESUMO Objetivo: Analisar as atividades desenvolvidas pela fisioterapia na atenção primária à saúde. Métodos: Revisão integrativa da literatura realizada nas bases SciELO, LILACS e MEDLINE usando os descritores physiotherapy, physical therapy e primary health care, em maio e junho de 2015. Buscaram-se artigos sobre a atividade do fisioterapeuta na atenção primária, disponíveis na íntegra, em inglês, português ou espanhol sem restrição de ano de publicação. Os artigos foram selecionados e analisados mediante as seguintes variáveis: atividades desenvolvidas, principais resultados e dificuldades enfrentadas. Resultados: Sete artigos foram analisados. As atividades enfatizaram atenção individual e coletiva tanto em nível preventivo quanto de reabilitação junto a diferentes públicos e apresentaram resultados satisfatórios com impacto positivo na saúde e redução de custos individuais e coletivos. No entanto, enfrentam desafios como o número insuficiente de profissionais, a falta de recursos e infraestrutura, a dificuldade de trabalho em equipe e a necessidade de mudanças na formação profissional. Conclusão: As atividades, apesar de incipientes e dos entraves enfrentados, apresentam bons resultados. Tal constatação demonstra a importância da fisioterapia na atenção primária à saúde e contribui para a difusão e efetiva atuação do profissional nesse nível de atenção. Descritores

Lower limb self-care among diabetic insulin users

Introduction: Lower limb neuropathy is one the complications of diabetes mellitus and the most common cause of lower limb amputation. Hence information and self-care advice should be provided to primary healthcare patients to prevent this condition. Objective: To explore insulin users' knowledge of foot self-care. Methods: This quantitative, descriptive, exploratory study was conducted at a Family Health Unit Curitiba-PR of Curitiba, PR, Brazil. The study sample comprised 63 insulin users. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire. Results: Although they reported performing self-care activities, 67% (n = 42) of insulin users declared that they had never received any information on foot self-care. Conclusion: The adherence to self-care practices shown by respondents and the patient empowerment observed in this study indicate the effectiveness of the information on diabetes self-care imparted to patients registered at this health care unit in contributing to the promotion of quality of life.
