Show more

“…Water absorption by agricultural products subject to soaking processes, in general, increases with temperature increase and soaking time (BHATTACHARYA 1995;PAN;TANGRATANAVALEE, 2003;SUAREZ, 2003SUAREZ, , 2005BELLO;TOLABA;SUAREZ, 2004;KAYA, 2004;RESENDE;CORRÊA, 2007;COELHO et al, 2008). The temperature effect during soaking has been studied for several agricultural products, such as corn (BHATTACHARYA, 1995;VERMA;PRASAD, 1999), common beans (ABU-GHANNAM; MCKENNA, 1997;RESENDE;CORRÊA, 2007;COELHO, et al, 2008) Water movement in the solid can be explained by different mechanisms.…”

Several authors have proposed that the major mechanism of water transport is liquid diffusion (FORTES;OKOS, 1980;GEANKOPLIS, 1983).…”

“…2, inciso XVI).
